Another Home Away From Home 🌏
Six months ago, if you had told me I would be on the other side of the world, I wouldn't have even laughed. I probably would have smiled and changed the subject, because there's been so many points in the last two years, where travelling has seemed like such a big possibility, and every time it's fallen flat.
This has been a blur. I can't pinpoint where the ball got rolling, where it all fell into place and what I was feeling. I'm tucked up in a cosy bed right now (it's only 8.30PM, but that timezone difference still kills me a little), and I think it's only just sinking in. I am on the other side of the world all by myself.
Not totally by myself.
I've already met the kindest strangers who had no reason to help me out, but they did anyway; fresh off the second flight, I was guided through the airport, treated to a coffee and then had my Uber paid for. I've been welcomed into someone's home and treated like one of the family, so much so that it almost doesn't feel like my own home is that far away. This has been pretty out of my comfort zone, to say the least, yet the step has been so easy so easy because of the people I've met so far along the way. Here's to the adventures heading my way (I hope!). I can't wait to meet them.
